about

Recognize anything here? This track, along with the next song "Never Meant a Word," were merged into one song which was titled "Stay With Me" on COFTF. While recording, we decided the combination of the two would be the best idea, and it (luckily) worked. We took the intro, the last part of the bridge, and the verse music from this song and merged it with the chorus from the other to get the final song. Pretty fun memory.

Toby was the nickname of our first drummer, Trey. Trey drummed for Freshmen15 (not the current band Freshman 15) right up until our record deal became official, and then decided it was his time to step down and pursue a different path. It was a big deal for us...he's remained one of our best friends throughout the years. He always reminded us that we needed to get real jobs and that skinny jeans were really unacceptable attire for respectable men. He's living it up in ol' Mississippi nowadays, teaching a bunch of ingrates at a small town high school and spending great times with his lovely family, the always incredible wonder-kin Ryan Coon, the law-man Gary Stanton, the quick witted Ben Robinson, and the insufferably harmless, inarticulately amazing, incomparable legend that is known far and wide as John Eaton.

lyrics

We'll write it down,
so take this with you;
Every moment, all the good times we've had.
Letting go and moving forward,
fighting tears that try to fall.

I can't believe it's over, it's over.
It took some time to let it go.
Every step that we take is a mile we miss with you.

If letting go was ever easy,
it's beyond us, but
there's no other way!
Take the good times with the bad ones,
find the strength to hope for what is coming.

I can't believe it's over, it's over.
It took some time to let it go.
Every step that we take is a mile we miss with you.

This the best way we can try to say goodbye for now,
but it's not the last time we will see your face.

I can't believe it's over, it's over.
It took some time to let it go.
Every step that we take is a mile we miss with you.

Every step that we take is a mile we miss with you.
